Indoor Ski Dubai is one of the most unique attractions in the city. In this article, we share our personal experience of skiing in the desert. You’ll find out how the visit works, what to expect, and whether it’s really worth it.
What to Expect in This Article
Our Visit to Ski Dubai: Spontaneous and Unplanned
While planning our trip through Dubai, we had intentionally left Ski Dubai off the itinerary. We already had plenty of highlights scheduled, including the Burj Khalifa, the desert safari, and The View at The Palm. Plus, we had already enjoyed a fun experience on the ice rink at Dubai Mall early on. Since only two of us actually know how to ski, we didn’t even consider visiting the indoor ski slope* in the first place.
At the very end of our trip, we actually found ourselves on the slopes.
The reason? We had deliberately left the last day unplanned so we could stay flexible. So we headed to the Mall of the Emirates, simply because it was closest to our wonderful hotel*. With no fixed plan, just a bit of browsing and wandering around.
Then we saw the signs for Ski Dubai and thought: “Why not?” Two of us who had some skiing experience hit the slopes, while the other two went shopping in the meantime.

How Does a Visit to Indoor Ski Dubai Work?
Entry to the indoor ski resort* is completely digital. You book your time slot, enter your skill level, and receive all the equipment you need – except gloves.
Right at the entrance, you choose how long you want to stay. We went for the two-hour option. Then you fill in your details and select your experience level. Beginners are not allowed – some skiing knowledge is required.
What Gear Do You Get on Site?
You’ll receive skis or a snowboard, ski boots, poles, a helmet, and warm outerwear. Gloves are not included, but you can easily buy a pair on site at a low cost. Getting dressed takes just a few minutes.

What’s It Like Inside the Ski Hall?
The hall is larger than expected and comes with a few surprises. Two lifts take you comfortably to the top. There’s a chairlift for a relaxed ride, and a faster drag lift for more athletic skiers.
We started with the chairlift but quickly switched to the drag lift after seeing how much faster it was. You need to hold on tightly and keep your balance. If you lose focus, you might fall and not make it to the top. Some parts of the ride are quite jerky, so pay close attention.
What Slopes Does Ski Dubai Offer?
There are five different slopes in total, each with its own character. You can choose between beginner-friendly runs and more advanced options. The hall bends in the middle, so you never see the full length of it at once.
Will You See Skilled Skiers There?
Yes. We were surprised to see how many locals ski like pros. Some even perform jumps and tricks like in a real alpine snow park.

Is Ski Dubai Actually Worth It?
Yes – if you enjoy skiing or just want to experience it again. The whole setup is well organized, the runs are fun, and two hours are more than enough.
We went in without high expectations but came out impressed. The experience is surreal, but in the best possible way – especially if you’re already at the Mall of the Emirates.
Our Verdict on Indoor Ski Dubai
We didn’t expect it to be this much fun. Two of us went skiing, the other two went shopping – and everyone was happy. If you can handle a few turns, give it a try.
Booking tickets for Ski Dubai in advance is super easy.
It saves you time and secures your spot – especially during peak season.
